<image:caption>These matching his-and-hers anniversary rings are made with Argentium Sterling Silver, which has a brighter, whiter shine and are relatively tarnish resistant. The center stripe is made with Shibuichi copper, a Japanese alloy of copper and fine silver. It colors beautifully with patina, producing a dark brown in this case. The inside of the ring, against the finger, is all silver.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Rings - "Leaves in the Wind" matching His-and-Hers Rings</image:title>
<image:caption>These rings employ the same Leaves in the Wind theme used for drop earrings and a cuff bracelet (in the selections of bracelets and earrings). The top layer containing the design is cut out of metal strip and then fused to a backing strip. In this case the metal is 14K gold. The recessed design is darkened (patinated) and the ring polished clean on the surface to reveal the recessed design. Technically, this a an intaglio and used throughout my collection.</image:caption>

In this case, the balls are made of 14kt gold and the bail, attaching the pendant to the necklace, is also in gold. The backing is thick, and made with jeweler’s brass. It is so thick, if this was 14kt gold, it would add $500 onto the cost of the piece, all for a back that is not seen.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Earrings - Spring Branches, in Relief</image:title>
<image:caption>These designs are inspired by tree branches in early spring, just beginning to sprout flowers and leaves. The design is cut out of sterling silver, and then fused to a backing sheet of silver. The metal is patinated (blackened) and then the front sanded back to silver. When the design is below the level of the picture, it is called an Intaglio. Usually, this is done by cutting out the design using a graver (to make an engraving). In this case, its done by fusing layers and developing the image by patination and restoring the top layer by sanding.</image:caption>
